SOPRANO | PERFORMER
Beatriz Gaudêncio Ramos is a lyric coloratura soprano, performing a wide range of repertoire from Early to Contemporary Music. She has performed in Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal and Spain, and this season marks her debut in Germany. Beatriz sang in the Austrian (Das MuTh, Vienna) and Czech (New Opera Days Ostrava Festival) Premieres of Pascal Dusapin’s Opera “Passion”, in collaboration with Neue Oper Wien. The soprano has worked with conductors such as Walter Kobera, José Eduardo Gomes, Jan Wierzba, and Constança Simas, as well as ensembles like Ars Combinatoria (Spain), mdi ensemble (Italy) and Quarteto Contratempus (Portugal). In October 2024, Gaudêncio Ramos sang in the Italian premiere of Alberto Posadas’ “La Tentación de las Sombras” at Teatro Elfo Puccini, with mdi ensemble, in Milan, Italy. In January 2024, she participated in Helmut Lachenmann’s masterclass in Austria, working on and performing his piece Got Lost for voice and piano. In 2022, she sang Olympia in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann in the Grande Auditório of Convento São Francisco, Coimbra, Portugal.
Gaudêncio Ramos has premiered works by composers such as Alfonso Casanova, Canco Villarabid, Sofia Sousa Rocha, Telmo Marques, Ema Ferreira, and Cláudia Cañamero Ballestar. In addition to her vocal work, Gaudêncio Ramos enjoys integrating movement into her artistic projects. While not a dancer by training, she explores physical expression as an important part of her performances. She is currently specializing in the Master’s program in Performance Practice in Contemporary Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Prof. Holger Falk.
